Job Summary:
The Director of Residential Supports (DRS) oversees and supervises residents and staff in HARC's Residential Supports Program. The DRS is responsible for ensuring the completion of resident-specific paperwork, and ensuring that the residents' Individual Plan program goals and action plans are implemented.

Key Responsibilities:
Advance Harc's mission in the community and governmental advocacy efforts; demonstrating respectful interactions with the people we support and their families, supporting activities that promote Harc, including attending and supporting fundraisers.
Supervises the Coordinators of Residential Supports. Build the residential support team, and nurture a positive work environment and culture.
Responsible to ensure that all regulations, statutes, DDS policy and procedures, and Harc Policy and procedures are followed including, but not limited to, Program Review for behavioral programs/psychotropic medication, Individual Plans, and specialized Planning and Support Team Meetings designed to help the people build a great life.
Conducts Management Audits and bi-Annual Programs and Services Reviews.
Monitors systems developed to ensure people receive all appropriate supports.
Ensures systems are in place to monitor/review/maintain all logistical documentations (i.e. time sheets, activity sheets, incident/anecdotal reports, staff training materials, meeting minutes, supplies, maintenance requests).
Facilitates staff meetings with Coordinators of Resident Supports and Assistant Coordinators.
Assists the Coordinators to manage residential in-service training for direct support staff
Monitors new staff during training and probationary period to ensure job performance meets required standards.
Maintain up-to-date training commensurate with the position.
In the event of inadequate staffing levels or job action must be available to assist with direct participant support.
Regular attendance and punctuality with limited unscheduled absences is required.

Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Special Education, Social Work or other related field.
Two years' experience working with people with intellectual disability. (Other combinations of experience and education may be considered).
Experience providing supervision.
Experience supporting people within a residential environment preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational abilities and detail oriented.
Ability to apply basic theories, principles and techniques as they relate to the provision of supports to people with intellectual disability.
Ability to develop, plan and provide supervision effectively.
Ability to prepare written documents and reports using proper grammar and style.
Good communication abilities and utilizes multi-modality communication when needed.
Has the ability to maintain consistent professional ethics as they relate to residents, support staff and the agency mission.
Ability to work as a team player with all levels of resident support disciplines.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Ability to motivate people and deal with issues beyond giving and receiving instructions.
Ability to perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature.

Physical Requirements:
Work varies from light to heavy; this position may be required to lift 10-50 pounds.
Ability to operate standard office equipment.
Ability to complete significant amounts of computer screen work and data entry without restriction.

Work is performed in a residential setting with frequent interactions with residents and staff. The work environment is fast-paced and requires flexibility and adaptability.
