Position Overview:

The Boeing Company is seeking a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to contribute to the Air Dominance Program, specifically the F/A-18 initiative. This role is integral to the Quality leadership team and will work closely with senior management across various functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of quality engineers and technical staff engaged in quality assurance throughout all stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Formulate quality strategies and action plans to support business development and program execution.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Total Quality and program leadership teams.
  • Lead the functional teams dedicated to Total Quality, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Provide training and mentorship on the Quality Management System.
  • Manage resources effectively, ensuring quality technical oversight and driving performance enhancements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Review technical documentation to guarantee quality and manufacturability.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and implement Total Quality strategies, identifying and sharing best practices.
  • Drive a culture of total quality and first-time quality in all program execution phases.
  • Champion Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) across both new and existing programs.
  • Utilize Lean methodologies and proactive quality tools to enhance quality across the program.
  • Foster an environment of quality, compliance, continuous improvement, and innovation, with a strong focus on Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People Development.
  • Lead by example to cultivate an inclusive workplace culture.

Work Environment:

This position requires on-site presence at designated locations.

Security Clearance:

U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience in data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Proven experience in managing diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical discipline.
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with senior executives.
  • Familiarity with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) applications.
  • Current certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) such as CQA, CQE, or CQT.
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodologies.
