Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and talented Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager to join our growing engineering team in Berkeley. This position will involve civil engineering design for various projects, including site development, utilities, rail, storm water management, and road/trail design.

The successful candidate will have a diverse project background, extensive experience, and the ability to lead multidiscipline projects. This role offers a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities
  1. Organize and develop project teams to execute specific phases or aspects of projects, such as technical studies, project design, and project inspection.
  2. Prepare conceptual design and construction documents using Microstation/Geopak/OpenRoads and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  3. Supervise junior staff and maintain a hands-on role in the production of deliverables.
  4. Develop project scope of work, estimate manpower needs, prepare project schedules, and track project progress.
  5. Coordinate with in-house engineering, architects, environmental/planning, and outside consultants.
  6. Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements.
  7. Assure the project meets quality control and quality assurance guidelines.
  8. Train and mentor junior staff.
Requirements
  • At least 8 years of professional experience on a diverse range of projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
  • Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and various engineering software systems.
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed Engineer with 8-15 years of professional experience on transportation-related projects.
  • Design experience for site development projects and construction administration.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
