POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Behavior Specialist serves as the primary clinical authority for a dedicated team and a designated group of clients. A full caseload typically includes 10-12 clients for in-home clinicians and 8-10 clients for those specializing in Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI). The exact number of clients is determined based on individual case severity and is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Strong leadership and management skills, along with the ability to provide clinical guidance and supervision, are essential for success in this role. Clinical Behavior Specialists are responsible for ensuring that all team members meet their billing requirements.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• A Master's Degree or higher in a field approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

• Valid Behavior Analyst License

• Minimum of one year of supervisory or management experience

• At least two years of experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct comprehensive client assessments using appropriate clinical methodologies and create individualized service plans (ISPs) tailored to each assessment.

• Oversee skill acquisition, generalization, maintenance, and address problem behaviors while providing parent training through an electronic client records management system.

• Offer clinical supervision and training to clinical staff and assistant behavior analysts within the team.

• Maintain regular communication with parents and provide training to ensure that services positively affect families.

• Assist in all intake and discharge planning activities, including preparing necessary documentation for client insurance authorizations and service reauthorizations.

• Supervise clinicians in training (CITs) in the development and monitoring of ISPs, objectives, and methods to deliver effective client services.

• Collaborate with other service providers involved with clients to promote consistency among families and caregivers.

• Lead and engage in regularly scheduled staff meetings and training sessions.

• Inspire and guide team members to achieve job objectives; clearly communicate expectations and maintain effectiveness under pressure.

• Demonstrate appropriate delegation and coordination of tasks within the program, utilizing strong organizational and prioritization skills.

• Complete all required documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures within designated timeframes.

• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures and undertake additional tasks as necessary for the successful operation of the program.

• Stay current with evidence-based practices by participating in ongoing education activities.

• Uphold professional and ethical standards consistently.
