Primary Objective:

To conduct routine tasks involving the mechanical and performance analysis of natural gas and crude oil compressors, pumps, and related equipment.

This role may be filled in an alternate location at the discretion and approval of the hiring manager.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct performance and maintenance analysis on motors, engines, turbines, pumps, and compressors.
  • Perform frequent portable emissions testing and modeling.
  • Engage in routine vibration testing and data analysis as part of an ongoing vibration mitigation program.
  • Model engines and compressors to establish or correct performance and control system accuracy.
  • Utilize ultrasonic leak detection and quantification techniques.
  • Monitor the reliability of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Provide problem determination and resolution through root cause analysis and technical reporting.
  • Identify and report environmental concerns, assisting in their resolution.
  • Document and communicate the mechanical health of equipment to management.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the start-up and commissioning of new natural gas compression and oil pump station equipment.
  • Travel extensively as required.
  • Interact with a diverse range of individuals with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Maintain regular attendance and a high level of performance.
  • Work non-traditional hours as necessary.
  • Prioritize personal safety and the safety of company assets and employees.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

A two-year degree in Applied Science or a related Engineering field from an accredited institution. Alternatively, a minimum of two years of relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.


Experience/Specific Knowledge:

Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong mathematical skills and effective communication abilities are essential. A customer-focused approach in dealing with engineering and field operations is required. Candidates should be able to organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with minimal supervision. Familiarity with remote pipeline systems and personnel is beneficial. A strong mechanical aptitude is necessary.

Working knowledge of electronic equipment, high-pressure gas processing, reciprocating engines, electric motors, and compressors is required. Experience with portable emissions testing and vibration testing technologies is preferred. Knowledge of PLC and microprocessor-based control systems is advantageous.

Ability to utilize route-based data collection equipment and software is a plus. Candidates should be goal-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.


Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are required for travel.

Ability to perform all essential functions of the job, work collaboratively, follow directions, adhere to schedules, and focus on details. Candidates should be able to manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines and prioritize daily work effectively.


Physical Demands:

Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, walking, driving, talking, seeing, hearing, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.


Working Conditions:

Availability to respond during working and non-working hours is required. Candidates must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and travel significant distances by vehicle.


Supervisory Responsibility:

No supervisory responsibilities are associated with this position.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience exceeding the minimum requirements, including over ten years in crude oil and/or natural gas pipeline operations, is advantageous. Strong technical knowledge of instrumentation, electronics, control systems, and predictive maintenance technologies is preferred.
