Key Responsibilities

• Conduct repairs or replacements of worn mechanical components;

• Fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products;

• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately;

• Understand work orders and document repairs appropriately;

• Utilize service and repair manuals to guide modifications and repairs;

• Operate oxy/fuel torches, arc welding equipment, and various power tools;

• Apply decals, stenciling, and perform touch-up painting on railcars;

• Adhere to safety policies and perform all tasks within established timeframes.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude;

• Proficient in reading precision instruments and gauges;

• Ability to work from blueprints and technical drawings;

• Competent in using hand and power tools, including pneumatic tools, cutting torches, and welding machines;

• Experience working around and operating overhead cranes and mobile equipment;

• Capable of working at heights exceeding 6 feet;

• Comfortable working on various surfaces (concrete, gravel, railcar floors);

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods;

• Frequent bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders;

• Experience with confined space work;

• Ability to push/pull and carry loads up to 50 lbs.
