Position Overview

The role of the Materials & Processes Engineer - TS III is pivotal in supporting innovative aerospace programs at General Dynamics. This position demands a highly skilled individual with a robust background in aerospace manufacturing, particularly in composite materials and their production methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Materials & Processes Technical Specialist III, focusing on new aerospace programs.
  • Collaborate closely with composite manufacturers and suppliers to align with project objectives.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations using nondestructive testing (NDT) and material characterization techniques.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance composite manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 13 years of relevant technical experience or 15 years of diverse engineering experience.
  • Advanced degrees in applicable fields are advantageous.

Essential Functions:
  1. Lead complex engineering projects, ensuring adherence to established scopes and objectives.
  2. Make authoritative technical decisions that significantly influence engineering activities.
  3. Utilize advanced engineering principles and unique specialized knowledge to drive innovation.
  4. Develop and refine standards and guidelines for engineering practices.
  5. Independently investigate critical areas lacking established engineering precedents.
