Behavioral Health Care Manager II Position

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Care Manager II to join our team at Elevance Health. This role will involve managing psychiatric and substance abuse treatment services for our members, ensuring they receive high-quality care in a cost-effective setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use clinical judgment and screening criteria to assess member needs and ensure access to necessary behavioral healthcare services.
- Refer cases to peer reviewers as needed and perform assessments, coordination, and case planning to promote quality member outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize member health benefits and promote effective use of community resources.
- Provide guidance and support to other care managers and participate in interdepartmental teams and projects.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral health field, or a degree in nursing, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment.
- Current, active, unrestricted license to practice as a health professional within the scope of licensure in applicable states or territory of the United States.
- Previous experience in case management and utilization management, with a broad range of experience with complex psychiatric and substance abuse cases.
- Prior managed care experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BCBA or LBA license in the state of Kansas.
