We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at LifeLong Medical Care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist medical providers with basic clerical and clinical tasks, including patient registration, vital signs, and medication management.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record systems to document patient information and maintain accurate records.
- Perform patient discharge activities, including completion of referral forms and instructions for filling prescriptions.
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment for patient examinations, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Assist with injections, basic lab tests, and other clinical procedures as needed.
- Provide patient education and information as instructed by clinic practitioners and protocols.
- Actively participate in internal quality improvement teams and contribute to driving quality improvement initiatives.
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a community clinic or family practice setting (not including clinical rotation/externship).
- Electronic Health Records and Electronic Practice Management systems experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and the internet.
- Current CPR certification from an AHA-approved organization.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare or a related field.
- One of the following certifications: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or California Certifying Board of Medical Assistants (CCMA).
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, including the homeless, substance users, and individuals with HIV/AIDS or psychological impairments.
- Working knowledge of community health problems and social and economic factors related to health.
- Bilingual English/Spanish/Arabic language skills.
- Competitive hourly rate: $21 - $25/hour.
