Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at LTD Global. The successful candidate will provide clinical and administrative support to our Health Services clinic team members, ensuring the best possible care for our employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical support to clinicians, including vital signs, height, weight, pain screening, and documentation of chief complaints.
  • Assist with medical surveillance and voluntary exams, explaining tests and obtaining written informed consent.
  • Perform phlebotomy, prepare specimens for pick-up, and administer immunizations.
  • Support various wellness initiatives, including flu clinics, blood pressure screenings, and health and safety fairs.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, restock as needed, and advise manager of expiring supplies.
  • Clean patient care areas, process biohazardous waste, and provide periodic maintenance and cleaning of equipment.

Requirements:

  • Current California Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited program.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a medical office setting, including medical assisting and medical receptionist duties.
  • Strong computer skills, medical terminology knowledge, and experience with basic medical charting.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to organize, coordinate, and complete projects effectively and within deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience with phlebotomy and immunizations.
  • Ability to function in an environment of competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to ensure completion of assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to utilize clinic equipment correctly and safely.
  • Well-developed people skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow written protocols for patient care.
  • Certification or the ability to become certified in CPR.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and the handling of personal health information (PHI).
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting boxes of supplies up to 25 lbs, bending, and reaching for clinic maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with DOE policies and procedures.
  • Experience with Workers' Compensation processes and required documentation.
  • Experience assisting with physical or occupational therapy.
