Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver patient care through the application of established Nursing Practice standards to individuals across all age groups.
- Demonstrating proficiency in understanding the behavioral, developmental, and psychosocial requirements of patients.
- Evaluating, communicating, and documenting patients' health status, pain levels, and concerns.
- Conducting thorough admission assessments.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- At least one year of acute care RN experience in a hospital environment (National Certification is appreciated, but not mandatory).
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, supportive, and fast-paced setting.
- Compassion, adaptability, and a strong capacity to work within a cohesive team.
- A desire to learn, critical thinking abilities, and sound judgment.
- Flexibility and willingness to float between units and/or facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care through the application of established Nursing Practice standards.
- Conducts accurate and comprehensive admission assessments within designated time frames.
- Evaluates and documents patients' pain levels following appropriate protocols.
- Prioritizes and records patient issues based on assessed needs in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team.
- Develops and implements care plans in partnership with other disciplines to promote wellness and facilitate discharge.
- Monitors and documents patients' conditions and the effectiveness and timeliness of care interventions.
- Reviews, updates, and modifies care plans to achieve desired outcomes.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Nursing program.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Certifications Required:
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the AHA is required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the AHA is required.
- Completion of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) within the last year is required.
Work Complexity:
- Willingness to work across multiple facilities.
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
- Must be capable of functioning in a high-pressure environment and taking appropriate actions.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of recent experience in the Emergency Department.
Physical Demands:
- Requires full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires prolonged standing and walking.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands exceed those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adheres to Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as necessary for procedures.
