Job Description

As a Heavy Equipment Operator for UIC Alaska, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment including road graders, rock trucks, bulldozers, scrapers, shovels, excavators, tractors, loaders, and forklifts. You will work in a fast-paced environment and be required to perform a range of tasks including operating equipment, performing maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities
  1. Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as required.
  3. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  4. Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  1. 1+ year of experience operating heavy equipment.
  2. Working knowledge of heavy highway construction.
  3. Ability to pass a background check and obtain any necessary certifications.
  4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. CDL license.
  2. Experience working with heavy equipment in a construction or excavation setting.
Working Conditions

As a Heavy Equipment Operator for UIC Alaska, you will be working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols at all times.

The job will involve working at heights above 12 feet, using ladders, scaffolding, and/or man lifts. You will also be required to work in confined spaces and be exposed to dust, noise, and other hazards.

You will be required to be physically fit and able to lift and carry heavy objects, as well as operate equipment for extended periods of time.
