Position Overview:

As a Senior Financial Accountant at Viable, you will be instrumental in directing and managing our financial operations. We seek a detail-oriented and seasoned professional to oversee all facets of accounting and financial stewardship for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a robust accounting background, exceptional organizational capabilities, and the capacity to operate autonomously. This pivotal role is essential to our financial framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and uphold precise financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Administer all components of the general ledger.
  • Supervise the month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Establish and enforce internal controls to guarantee the integrity of financial data.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Manage payroll processing and associated tax obligations.
  • Reconcile bank statements and oversee cash flow management.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
  • Conduct financial analyses and deliver insights to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
  • Implement and uphold internal controls to protect company assets.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable effectively.
  • Create journal entries for all accounts, including fixed assets.
  • Issue invoices and collect payments from clients.
  • Process payroll, income, sales, and use taxes.
  • Handle employee timesheets and payroll management.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency enhancements.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior accounting role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and other pertinent accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, Oracle) and advanced skills in MS Excel and Office Suite.
  • Experience with cash-based accounting in QuickBooks Online.
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
