POSITION SUMMARY:

We are in search of a skilled Cybersecurity Operations Officer to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO). This pivotal role involves facilitating clear communication regarding the DoD CIO's Digital Modernization and Fulcrum vision/strategy, along with its objectives for achieving cybersecurity goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and deliver informational briefings for senior executives to prepare them for both internal and external speaking engagements.
  • Compose talking points and correspondence tailored to specific DoD CIO issues and audiences.
  • Assist in the implementation and development of project management frameworks and governance processes for DoD CIO offices, particularly in Cybersecurity.
  • Create project management tools and best practices to monitor and execute DoD CIO programs, ensuring alignment with established milestones.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to recommend enhancements or adopt existing project management frameworks to effectively achieve program objectives.
  • Support the coordination of governance processes and new legislation reviews in collaboration with other departments.
  • Participate in department-wide forums to identify issues needing higher-level adjudication and assist in presenting these issues to senior CIO leadership.
  • Monitor governance process issues, including the execution of decisions and directives, and periodically update stakeholders on departmental progress.
  • Ensure all official correspondence adheres to DoD standards and requirements.
  • Manage and support Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) packages, including technical editing and tracking.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance is mandatory at the time of hire.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience within DoD or federal agencies, encompassing both operational and administrative roles.
  • Prior experience in supporting cybersecurity, cyber policy, or cyber governance forums is essential.
  • At least 3 years of experience at the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) level.
  • Familiarity with DoD correspondence requirements is crucial.
  • Recent experience with correspondence and task management systems (CATMS) is preferred.
  • Experience in a senior-level DoD front office is advantageous.
