Key Responsibilities:
As a Credentialing Coordinator, you will assist in the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for healthcare practitioners and facilities. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy requirements throughout the credentialing lifecycle. Key tasks include:
  • Overseeing the receipt and data entry of credentialing and re-credentialing applications into the database.
  • Managing monthly re-credentialing communications and following up with practitioners as needed.
  • Facilitating internal and external audits related to credentialing records.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive database to generate reports and summaries.
  • Performing various administrative tasks, such as preparing meeting agendas and minutes, ordering supplies, and assisting with provider workshops.
  • Updating provider appointment statuses based on monthly reports and running weekly credentialing validations.

Supporting Responsibilities:
In addition to your primary duties, you will:
  • Provide backup support to the operations department during staff absences.
  • Assist with managing delegation data.
  • Download electronic credentialing applications from external sources.
  • Support data integrity audits.
  • Meet departmental performance and attendance standards.
  • Adhere to PacificSource privacy policies and HIPAA regulations regarding protected health information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a detail-oriented position that requires multitasking and contributing positively to a work environment, or six months of internal experience at PacificSource.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge and Skills:
Ideal candidates will possess:
  • A foundational understanding of credentialing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Pro, and Access, with a focus on database management.
  • The ability to make sound administrative decisions and maintain organized record-keeping systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities, along with professional telephone etiquette.
  • Exceptional grammar, spelling, punctuation, and editing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
