Comprehensive Life Resources is a pioneering Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals through a holistic approach. We are currently seeking a qualified Certified Peer Counselor to contribute to our Outreach Team.

Role Purpose: The Certified Peer Counselor will leverage their lived experiences to offer advocacy, case management, and support to individuals seeking housing assistance through the Forensic HARPS Program. The primary goal is to reduce homelessness and facilitate recovery for individuals with complex wellness needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver case management services focusing on improving access to and retention in permanent supportive housing.
  • Utilize personal experiences to validate and empower participants, encouraging them to take charge of their recovery journey.
  • Educate and advocate against stigma and discrimination related to mental health, fostering participation in self-help and advocacy programs.
  • Instruct on symptom management techniques and promote personal development by helping clients navigate stressors.
  • Collaborate with mental health and allied service providers to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Work alongside the Housing Navigator to assist participants in securing safe and affordable housing, including support with finding roommates and furnishing their homes.
  • Guide participants in identifying suitable housing options while considering natural support systems and potential triggers.
  • Assist participants in accessing financial resources, including government benefits and housing subsidies.
  • Support participants in vocational training and skill development.
  • Help participants with daily living activities and enhancing positive social relationships that support recovery.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and provide necessary data and reports for program evaluation and monitoring.
  • Be available for consultation and crisis outreach as needed.
  • Conduct health and safety checks of living spaces as required.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated services, including attending regular meetings and training sessions.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards in all practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active Certified Peer Support Specialist credential from the Department of Health.
  • Ability to obtain Agency Affiliation Credential from the Department of Health.
  • Proficient in computer and technology skills.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, work independently, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of insurance required.
