The Senior Accounting Specialist will handle a range of financial transactions and contribute to month-end closing processes, account reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire month-end closing process.
  • Manage and track all financial accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems.
  • Ensure internal control measures are in place for revenue, costs, and expenditures.
  • Analyze financial data and generate accurate reports under the guidance of the Controller.
  • Assist in developing company-wide budgets and forecasts in collaboration with senior management.
  • Engage with external accounting firms during reviews, audits, and tax preparations.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support business needs.
  • Stay updated on current trends and best practices in the accounting field.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Experience with both manual and automated accounting systems.
  • Exceptional numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing excellent service.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial information.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Proven decision-making capabilities and cultural sensitivity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an architectural, engineering, or construction environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP implementation.
  • CPA or CMA certification.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision software.

Physical Requirements

This role may require occasional standing, walking, and lifting of up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception.

Work Environment

The work environment is typically office-based with moderate noise levels and no exposure to hazardous conditions.
