Job Summary

The Senior Project Accountant plays a crucial role in the Finance Team, collaborating closely with Project Managers to manage the monthly project accounting cycle, including revenue recognition and associated project costs. This position requires a high level of financial analysis work and provides opportunities for outstanding experience and exposure in different areas of the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly project accounting cycle, including revenue recognition and associated project costs
  • Work closely with Segment Directors on forecasting, billing projections, and project profitability
  • Perform a wide variety of project financial analysis work
  • Manage monthly billing process for multiple segments
  • Produce monthly invoicing to clients
  • Align project budgetary information with contract terms
  • Maintain project-related data in the accounting system
  • Prepare schedules for clients as needed
  • Prepare analysis as needed for segment directors
  • Manage accounts receivables/collections for projects
  • Work in partnership with Practice Area leaders on forecasting, future billings, and profitability
  • Bring inconsistencies, problems, and recommendations to the Director of Finance's attention
  • Assist the Director of Finance and the finance team in various tasks
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Five to Ten Years in a project accounting role
  • High level of communication skills, including providing customer service to clients
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems
  • Superior numeric skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to manage information with a high level of detail and accuracy
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently, as well as a part of a team
  • Proven ability to make and communicate decisions
Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
