YOUR CONTRIBUTION:

The Store Systems Technology Leader oversees a team dedicated to the planning, development, and support of integrated business applications related to Store Systems. This includes managing Point-of-Sale, payment processing, and back-office systems. As a leader within the software engineering team, you will leverage your expertise in software architecture to guide development tasks focused on creating, debugging, and designing software applications and databases according to established specifications. You will enhance existing software frameworks and propose architectural improvements. This role requires a leader who removes barriers for their team while empowering them to tackle complex technical and business challenges. Success in this position demands a strong blend of business insight and technical knowledge to deliver solutions that meet the distinct needs of both the business and technology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Project Leadership: Directs solution development initiatives that align with organizational goals. Ensures management is informed of each project and has the necessary resources. Monitors project progress to ensure adherence to standards and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivates open communication with stakeholders, serving as a primary contact by developing and executing engagement strategies. Negotiates with senior stakeholders to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Quality Assurance: Implements quality management practices to identify improvement areas. Coordinates corrective actions to enhance system and service quality through root cause analysis.
  • Resource Management: Develops resource plans, including conducting recruitment and onboarding processes, as well as managing internal resource allocation.
  • Performance Oversight: Supervises team members by assigning tasks and providing necessary support and guidance. Tracks progress against established quality and performance metrics.
  • Strategic Innovation: Drives a comprehensive vision for Store Systems across the organization. Identifies new opportunities and methodologies to advance Store Systems, aligning them with business benefits. Challenges the status quo and utilizes appropriate strategies to facilitate progress.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
  • Foster a vibrant, high-performing culture within the Store Systems team to promote growth and mission delivery.
  • Manage project risks by identifying potential triggers, establishing contingency plans, and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of secure and scalable Store Systems software solutions.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability for production support.
  • Maintain high standards for vendor partnerships that provide software, hardware, or services to our retail operations.
  • Share responsibility for compliance with data security standards and protect customer information.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in the development of Point of Sale, Payments, and retail store systems.
  • 2+ years of experience leading technical teams, providing direction, coaching, and mentorship.
  • Familiarity with Payment Card Industry Data Security standards is advantageous.
  • Ability to navigate conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to drive results through collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with onshore/offshore teams and flexible work arrangements.
  • Willingness to be available outside of regular hours as needed.
  • Minimal travel may be required for training or conferences.
