Job Summary

The Police Dispatch Analyst I is a critical role in the City of Dallas, TX, responsible for providing timely and accurate responses to emergency calls and messages. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the significance of calls and assign the appropriate level of police resources
  • Collaborate with department supervisors to monitor and control the response of police officers
  • Operate a Computer Aided Dispatch System (CADS) and other computer terminals
  • Monitor the location and status of all police officers on patrol at all times
  • Analyze all data received and assign, broadcast, and monitor all police calls, according to the nature of the emergency and in accordance with departmental policy
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of work experience in a heavy traffic high demand customer interface call environment with at least two years in general dispatch or a public safety/emergency communication dispatch field
  • Must obtain NCIC/TCIC/CJIS certification during the probationary period and renew the certification every year
  • Must obtain a Basic Telecommunicator License from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) during probationary period
  • Must obtain Emergency Police Dispatch Certificate
  • Must obtain Expediter/Service Desk Personnel License
Working Conditions

This position requires employees to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. The hiring department has a very strict attendance and tardiness policy.
