Job Summary:

The Madison School & Community Recreation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as the Middle School After School Program Assistant Director. This role will be responsible for assisting in the overall supervision and management of the after-school programs, leading and creating activities, engaging with staff, students, and families, and enforcing school rules and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the supervision and management of after-school programs
  • Lead and create activities for students in grades 6-8
  • Engage with staff, students, and families to create a welcoming and positive environment
  • Enforce school rules and policies
  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Training and experience in teaching recreational activities to children
  • Previous experience in supervising, evaluating, and coaching staff
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently in an emergency to ensure student safety
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Strong listening and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to multitask

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with social and emotional support needs of middle school aged youth
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Hmong
  • CPR/First Aid certification
