Job Summary

This PRN Residential Mentor position is responsible for creating a welcoming and supportive environment for clients to regain their self-esteem and achieve their goals. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with substance abuse and mental health issues, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trauma-informed support and guidance to clients in a residential setting
  • Assist with household duties, including meal preparation and cleanup
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and secure environment
  • Coordinate evening activities, special programs, and outings
  • Conduct random room searches and supervise client visitation
  • Transport clients in a van and arrange for cab transportation as needed
  • Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field
  • Experience working with substance abuse and mental health issues
  • Valid Texas Driver's license with no outstanding warrants or tickets
  • Mature and capable of making sound decisions
  • Ability to set and maintain good boundaries with clients
  • No criminal background or history
Working Conditions

Staff will be based inside the Main Residence and will share a desk, computer, and other standard office equipment. Staff must be able to handle frequent walking inside the building and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
