Job Description

At In Charge Electric, we are seeking a skilled Residential Electrician Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our training department, you will play a crucial role in training our new Apprentice Electricians. Our company prides itself on the quality and consistency of our work, and we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Oversight: Manage the training truck operations, ensuring it is fully equipped and maintained for training purposes. Coordinate with branch managers and supervisors to schedule training sessions and address specific training needs. Monitor and report on training outcomes and the effectiveness of training other employees.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, expertise, and a commitment to quality and safety. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where employees feel supported and encouraged to grow. Mentor junior trainers and assist in their development as effective educators.
  • Driving Safety: Emphasize the importance of safe driving practices and adherence to traffic laws. Train employees on the safe operation of company vehicles, including the training truck. Conduct regular vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Training and Development: Conduct hands-on training sessions for new hires and current employees on various electrical tasks and procedures. Develop and implement training programs and materials to enhance employees' technical skills and safety awareness. Assess employees' competencies and provide feedback and coaching to improve performance. Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices to ensure training content is current and relevant.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all training adheres to company safety policies and regulatory requirements. Promote a safety-first culture by educating employees on safe work practices and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Requirements
  • Valid Texas Wireman or Journeyman license preferred
  • 2 plus years' experience in Residential electrical construction
  • Valid driver's license and Clean driving history
  • Possess and maintain required tools
  • Willing to undergo a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
