About Our Client

Our client for the Vice President of Sales - Education opportunity is a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of educational storage solutions and furniture. With its headquarters in Europe and production facilities in both Europe and the US, this organization is experiencing significant growth, particularly in the US market, where it has seen a remarkable increase in revenue over the past two years.

The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for spearheading the sales initiatives in the US region, focusing on branding, business development, and strategic growth. Initially, the VP of Sales will operate as an individual contributor, with plans to establish and expand a dedicated sales team. A proven track record in leadership, team building, and mentoring within the sales domain is essential, along with experience in selling through distribution channels and to OEMs. Candidates must have a background in the Education sector, ideally within educational furniture or related fields. This position offers the flexibility of remote work; however, candidates are preferred to be based in the Midwest region. The compensation package includes an On-Target Earnings (OTE) range of $300,000 - $375,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the comprehensive sales strategy, execution, forecasting, and growth for the US region.
  • Develop and maintain robust customer relationships and strategic partnerships to understand customer needs and propose suitable products and solutions.
  • Collaborate with distribution partners and representative groups in the educational furniture and supply industry.
  • Identify and cultivate new OEM customer relationships while enhancing existing ones.
  • Meet and surpass budgeted sales and gross margin objectives.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all reports, plans, forecasts, and administrative tasks in alignment with senior management deadlines.
  • Work in conjunction with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, manufacturing, and logistics.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and mentor sales team members.
  • Guide sales team members in navigating key decision-makers at customer organizations, facilitating the sales and account management processes.
  • Communicate the strategic plan effectively to all key stakeholders.
  • Optimize customer engagement and call schedules to enhance time management and diligently document activities in the CRM.
  • Provide ongoing insights into market conditions, competitor activities, and progress towards business goals.
  • Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and customer events.
  • Conduct market analysis to evaluate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 15 years of sales experience.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role, managing and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Experience in the educational sector, particularly with educational storage solutions and/or furniture.
  • Proven experience in selling through distribution channels and/or manufacturing representatives.
  • Strong executive presence and leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling and growing a business.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel 40-50% across the US, with occasional international travel.

Compensation and Benefits

Competitive base salary ranging from $175,000 to $225,000 based on experience, along with an annual company bonus and an OTE of $300,000 - $375,000. Additional benefits include holidays, healthcare, and the opportunity to work remotely for a dynamic and rapidly growing global organization.
