Position Title: Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations is responsible for leading the sales team, offering management support, identifying business growth opportunities, overseeing operational functions, and managing all Regional and Branch Managers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Leadership

  1. Training and Development: Oversee and enhance sales training initiatives, ensuring that quarterly meetings for Branch and Regional teams are effectively conducted. Collaborate with the recruitment team to select qualified sales and management personnel.
  2. Sales Team Guidance: Work closely with Territory Managers and Customer Service/Sales Managers to refine their sales strategies, enhance product knowledge, and foster their development into successful sales professionals.
  3. Sales Monitoring: Implement various programs and incentives to motivate the sales force and track performance.
  4. Commercial Sales Support: Assist in securing large commercial contracts, including developing job quotes, managing job leads, and building relationships with key customers.
  5. Growth Initiatives: Identify new branch locations and product lines, conducting market research to assess viability and create strategic plans for success.

Operational Excellence

  1. Manager Development: Collaborate with Regional and Branch Managers to enhance their skills and prepare them for future challenges.
  2. Profitability Oversight: Regularly review financial statements with managers to ensure profitability and take corrective actions as necessary.
  3. Budget Management: Guide managers through the budgeting process for both sales and operations, ensuring sound financial planning.
  4. Vendor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with vendor management to optimize vendor programs and rebates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, exceptional interpersonal abilities, and a dependable work ethic.

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  2. A minimum of five years in a management role within the roofing supply industry.

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Proven ability to lead, supervise, and communicate effectively with team members.
  2. Strong product and industry knowledge.
  3. Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
