We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Education/Academic Program Coordinator to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the main student-facing components of our Education Program, including the Environmental and Sustainability Minor, the Martin Family Society of Fellows for Sustainability, and MIT education-focused events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate student engagement activities, including organizing and attending on-campus events, building relationships, and maintaining a general presence on campus.
  • Promote the Environmental and Sustainability Minor, collaborate with relevant faculty, manage the course list, meet and advise with students, and maintain relationships across climate and sustainability departments, labs, and centers.
  • Promote the Martin Fellows program, coordinate the faculty selection committee, and develop and run community-building programming for the fellows.
  • Provide assistance and support with ongoing grants, teaching/curriculum, and data management and analysis on research projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least one year of relevant student engagement and academic/educational program management experience.
  • Knowledge of general educational practices or of more specific environmental, sustainability, and environmental justice education content area knowledge.
  • Strong writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Research experience.
  • MIT experience.

This is a two-year position. The successful candidate will be able to work in the office two to three days per week.
