Academic Program Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Education/Academic Program Coordinator to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the main student-facing components of our Education Program, including the Environmental and Sustainability Minor, the Martin Family Society of Fellows for Sustainability, and MIT education-focused events.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate student engagement activities, including organizing and attending on-campus events, building relationships, and maintaining a general presence on campus.
- Promote the Environmental and Sustainability Minor, collaborate with relevant faculty, manage the course list, meet and advise with students, and maintain relationships across climate and sustainability departments, labs, and centers.
- Promote the Martin Fellows program, coordinate the faculty selection committee, and develop and run community-building programming for the fellows.
- Provide assistance and support with ongoing grants, teaching/curriculum, and data management and analysis on research projects.
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least one year of relevant student engagement and academic/educational program management experience.
- Knowledge of general educational practices or of more specific environmental, sustainability, and environmental justice education content area knowledge.
- Strong writing skills.
- Master's degree.
- Experience in higher education.
- Research experience.
- MIT experience.
This is a two-year position. The successful candidate will be able to work in the office two to three days per week.
