Role Responsibilities

The CDL Operator at Select Water Solutions is tasked with the safe operation of a truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight of at least 26,000 pounds. This role involves preparing loads for delivery, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, loading and unloading oilfield equipment, and ensuring quality control and safety throughout all operational processes.

Key Duties Include:

  • Utilizing high-pressure pumps with various controls including levers and pedals.
  • Circulating wells and managing downhole pressure through pump operation.
  • Monitoring job activities and conditions via equipment gauges and hand signals.
  • Transporting hoses and pipe joints from the truck to the wellhead.
  • Connecting and disconnecting hoses and pipe joints using hand tools.
  • Ensuring proper loading and securing of the truck.
  • Overseeing shipment weight compliance.
  • Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and security.
  • Ensuring all inspections are current and compliant with regulations.
  • Adhering to all D.O.T. standards.
  • Keeping accurate driver qualification and driving records.
  • Organizing paperwork and documenting all transactions accurately.
  • Driving courteously and ensuring timely deliveries while prioritizing safety.
  • Collaborating with Procurement for all delivery and pick-up tasks.
  • Representing the company positively while in uniform.
  • Loading and unloading the truck as required.
  • Assisting in yard and field operations as directed by supervisors.
  • Complying with all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
  • Demonstrating competence with tractor trailers and associated equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with company safety standards during all tasks.
  • Executing assignments efficiently to guarantee accurate and secure deliveries.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Preferred: 1 year of experience as a CDL A driver.
  • Must possess a valid CDL A license.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Tanker and HazMat endorsements are preferred.
  • Must meet all Federal Motor Carrier D.O.T. requirements and safety qualifications.
  • Current D.O.T. medical certification is required.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Ability to read and interpret driving routes, safety regulations, and operational instructions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must pass D.O.T. pre-employment physical examination.
  • Availability for night or weekend shifts as needed.
  • Detail-oriented approach to safety and operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • CDL certification from an accredited driving school along with one year of relevant driving experience; experience may be substituted.
  • Experience in the energy sector is advantageous.

Compensation

Compensation is competitive and based on experience.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Work is performed in various outdoor weather conditions, including rain, extreme heat, and cold, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high winds, ice, snow, humidity, vibration, and dust is expected.
  • Noise levels may require the use of hearing protection.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking are necessary.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs independently.
