Job Responsibilities

The Hot Oil CDL Operator at Select Water Solutions is tasked with the safe operation of a hot oil unit, which includes a high-pressure pump and burner for fluid heating. The operator is responsible for completing necessary documentation, including vehicle inspection reports and daily logs, in compliance with DOT regulations, and must possess a solid understanding of Federal Motor Carrier regulations.

Key Duties Include:

  • Adhering to company policies and operational requirements.
  • Driving vehicles with a capacity exceeding 3 tons.
  • Operating high-pressure pumps and burners for fluid heating, utilizing various controls.
  • Circulating hot oil or water through flowlines to eliminate paraffin build-up.
  • Testing the integrity of tubing and casing using high-pressure pumps.
  • Monitoring job activities through equipment gauges and hand signals.
  • Handling hoses and pipes from the truck to the wellhead.
  • Connecting and disconnecting hoses and pipes with hand tools.
  • Ensuring trucks are well-maintained and operational.
  • Completing daily vehicle inspection reports as per DOT regulations.
  • Reporting any issues to the supervisor promptly and performing minor repairs as needed.
  • Understanding basic maintenance to repair and adjust equipment using hand tools.
  • Accurately completing timesheets and load records and submitting them to the supervisor daily.
  • Conducting all field activities safely and accurately.
  • Maintaining and operating all company equipment and property, with a willingness to work overtime.
  • Exhibiting dependable attendance and avoiding unauthorized absences.
  • Participating in all required safety meetings.
  • Engaging in various job-related training as per company safety procedures.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CDL A driver.
  • Possession of a valid CDL A license.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Tanker and HazMat endorsements are preferred.
  • Compliance with all Federal Motor Carrier D.O.T. requirements and safety standards.
  • Current D.O.T. medical certification.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to read and interpret driving routes, safety regulations, and operational manuals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Capability to pass D.O.T. pre-employment physical examinations.
  • Willingness to work night or weekend shifts as necessary.
  • Attention to detail is crucial for safety compliance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • CDL certification from an accredited driving school along with one year of relevant driving experience; experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
  • Experience in the energy sector is advantageous.

Compensation is competitive and based on experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is primarily conducted outdoors, subject to varying weather conditions, including rain, extreme temperatures, and exposure to mechanical parts.
  • Noise levels may require the use of hearing protection.
  • Involves prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs independently.
