Job Overview

Position Summary

The Digital Data Inspector is tasked with overseeing the inspection processes for flight hardware, which encompasses initial articles, in-process evaluations, and final assessments. This role includes the scrutiny of various components such as fabricated parts, weldments, machined items, tools, and assemblies. The inspector will utilize a range of metrology instruments to assess and verify that the actual features of components align with specified requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Accurately document inspection findings and prepare necessary first article documentation and certification packages.
  2. Conduct in-process and final inspections on products, reviewing build documentation and end-item data packages.
  3. Generate reports for any discrepancies identified during inspection activities.
  4. Utilize conventional inspection tools for thorough evaluations.
  5. Interpret complex aerospace drawings and specifications with precision.
  6. Employ CMMs (Verisurf Software), Faro Arms, Romer Arms, Leica Laser Trackers, and other inspection devices effectively.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. A minimum of 5 years' experience in Aerospace Quality Assurance, with relevant expertise in the Aerospace and Mechanical sectors.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  3. Proficiency in reading blueprints and using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, comparators, gauges, etc.).
  4. Ability to interpret engineering documentation and perform inspections according to drawings, parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with officials, staff, and the public courteously.
  6. Flexibility to work overtime, including 2nd or 3rd shift assignments as necessary.
  7. Competence in Microsoft applications and a quick aptitude for learning new software.
  8. Capability to follow detailed oral or written instructions accurately.
