Position Summary
The role of the Digital Data Inspector at DOERFER CORPORATION involves the meticulous examination of initial articles, ongoing processes, and final assessments of flight hardware. This includes a range of items such as fabricated components, weldments, machined elements, tools, and assemblies. The Digital Data Inspector will utilize various metrology instruments to accurately measure and compare the actual features of components against specified requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately document inspection results and prepare comprehensive first article documentation along with certification packages.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections on products, ensuring thorough review of product build documentation and end-item data packages.
- Generate detailed nonconformance reports for any discrepancies identified during inspection activities.
- Utilize conventional inspection tools effectively for quality assessments.
- Interpret complex aerospace drawings and specifications with precision.
- Employ CMMs (using Verisurf Software), Faro Arms, Romer Arms, Leica Laser Trackers, and various other inspection devices for quality control.
Qualifications
Required:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace Quality Assurance, with relevant expertise in the Aerospace and Mechanical sectors.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and utilizing precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, and gauges.
- Ability to interpret engineering documentation and perform inspections according to drawings, parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact courteously with officials, staff, and the public.
- Willingness to work overtime, including 2nd or 3rd shift assignments as necessary.
- Competence in Microsoft applications and a capacity to quickly learn new software programs.
- Ability to understand and execute detailed oral or written instructions effectively.
