Job Summary:

The Housing Support Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our homeless residential programs and clients. This role requires a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain operational control of the facility in the absence of senior staff
  • Oversee front desk operations, including answering phones, providing referrals, and monitoring cameras
  • Ensure client compliance with Volunteers of America policies and house rules
  • Maintain chronological written records of events and client sign-in/sign-out logs
  • Assist with conducting drug screenings and initial intake paperwork
  • Check chores daily and oversee supplies needed for chores
  • Prepare facilities for tours and direct volunteer efforts
  • Conduct hourly walk-throughs and monitor clients
  • Complete training as assigned and participate in team meetings
  • Monitor mealtimes, provide transportation, and assist with educational and recreational groups

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; two years post-secondary education preferred
  • Prior experience in residential homeless programs or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and low-income services preferred
  • Proficient oral, written, and computer skills required
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record preferred
