Position Overview: PAR is in search of a motivated and skilled full-time medical assistant floater for our West Broad location. Enjoy the benefits of weekly compensation while working in a collaborative environment that fosters professional growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • Prepare medical records; upload and scan patient information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Gather vital signs, patient history, current medications, and the purpose of the visit from patients.
  • Accurately record patient interactions.
  • Respond promptly to patient inquiries regarding prescription refills and other questions.
  • Execute provider directives such as setting up durable medical equipment, scheduling sleep studies, and managing patient follow-ups.
  • Secure prior authorizations for medical procedures, medications, and co-payment assistance.
  • Utilize inventory management systems for dispensing, transferring, and adjusting stock as necessary.
  • Coordinate appointments for new clinic patients, clearly explaining policies and procedures.
  • Send prescriptions as required.
  • Oversee medication and ancillary supplies inventory.
  • Administer injections and schedule diagnostic tests.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical assistant, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Completion of CNA or Certified Medical Assistant training or equivalent education/experience (preferred).
  • Experience with EMR systems: 1 year (preferred).
  • Vital signs experience: 1 year (preferred).
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or CNA (preferred).

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • During clinic hours, the role requires continuous standing and walking. Outside of clinic hours, the position involves primarily sitting with some walking and standing.
  • Manual dexterity is necessary for operating a computer keyboard, mobile devices, and other office equipment.
  • Physical strength is needed for using a manual blood pressure cuff.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. frequently during clinic operations.
  • Capacity to focus on computer screens for extended periods.
  • Occasional stress may arise from workload and demands from physicians and patients.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods, with occasional standing and walking.
