Job Summary:

The Vice President of Media and Content Development will drive the growth of our emerging media line of business while overseeing all content and business development efforts for the Hall of Fame Village Media, the Media division at the publicly traded Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company (the "Company").

This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and be a key member of the executive leadership team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement overall media strategy for the business.
  • Meet with key media channels, including agencies, studios, and development houses.
  • Deliver new media deals across multiple platforms, including film, TV, and direct-to-consumer streaming.

This will also include additional media platforms, such as print media, art, and other forms of content delivery across multiple business verticals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide ongoing recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  • Drive new business development activity, including event development, sponsorship/partnership growth by category, and evaluating new business verticals for company growth.
  • Develop original programming concepts consistent with the goals and objectives of the company and the Media Division.
  • Identify marketable storylines, narratives, and content opportunities relating to the company, the game of football, and/or the sports and entertainment industries.
  • Understand and adapt to current market conditions and network mandates to enhance revenue potential of company development efforts.
  • Support the flow of information by keeping departments updated on development efforts.
  • Track, monitor, and oversee the status of all media business relationships and contract administration.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, display decisiveness, and show adaptability.
  • Translate concepts into tactical plans of action and experiment quickly in new content formats.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships within the entertainment community, including agents, managers, producers, production companies, studios, networks, and emerging talent.
  • Create content and business development efforts to support media for all forms of distribution.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years in the Media Industry with management experience and progressively responsible business development roles.
  • Experienced media expert with strong partnership and communication skills and key contacts throughout the media industry, including content development, production, and distribution.
  • Ability to drive new business deals across multiple types of media channels, including TV, Film, Social Media, and Direct-to-Consumer Streaming.
  • Deep understanding of the development and production process.
  • Experience with hearing/reviewing new content development deals.
  • Proven track record of business growth, including leading sales/marketing/sponsorship efforts related to media content distribution.
  • Able to work independently in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Must possess top-notch negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Show confidence in a startup/early-stage company, exercise good judgment, and a keen eye for business decisions and demonstrate problem-solving skills in a high-pressure environment.
  • Availability to work across all time zones is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Sports media industry experience, with experience in the football media sector a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Media or related studies.
