Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Facility Engineer is tasked with ensuring the reliable and effective operation and upkeep of all systems within the facility.

Compensation: Up to $100,000 annually

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse range of refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, and heating systems.
  • Review specifications provided by external parties and implement necessary installation adjustments to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks, including filter changes and cleaning of cooling towers and coils.
  • Work independently or collaboratively, making informed decisions regarding HVAC operations and maintenance.
  • Perform various building maintenance duties, including adjustments and repairs to HVAC and electrical systems.
  • Fabricate and install ductwork and components using metalworking tools and welding equipment.
  • Install evaporator units and connect motors, compressors, and controls to power sources.
  • Inject refrigerant into systems and monitor pressure and vacuum gauges to ensure proper operation.
  • Utilize building automation systems effectively and respond to alarms while maintaining operational logs.
  • Conduct routine inspections and respond to service requests with appropriate corrective actions.
  • Test joints and connections for leaks and insulate pipes as necessary.
  • Replace defective electrical components and ensure all HVAC equipment is functioning properly.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Top Secret Security Clearance
  • 5 years of relevant HVAC experience
  • 3 years of experience in data center environments
  • HVAC Journeyman's License or equivalent
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems, chillers, boilers, and life safety systems.
  • Experience with electrical systems and controls in mission-critical settings.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include frequent standing, walking, and lifting of heavy objects. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, as well as depth perception.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a facility with both indoor and outdoor exposure.
