Position Overview

The selected candidate will collaborate with a skilled team of system engineers dedicated to making design choices across various facets of A/V Systems and guiding the technical trajectory of numerous projects spanning multiple programs. Key responsibilities encompass the architecture of systems hardware and software frameworks for large-scale, intricate, and resilient systems, as well as crafting high-level architectural solutions to ensure that implemented designs align with stakeholder requirements, standards, and performance metrics. Essential duties include but are not limited to:
  • Generating Drawing Packages and Bill of Materials utilizing CAD software.
  • Designing and evaluating sophisticated videoconferencing and integrated audio/visual technologies (including videoconferencing, control systems, displays, video walls, matrix systems, audio reinforcement systems, cameras, microphones, document cameras, streaming technologies, etc.) along with A/V collaboration technologies.
  • Engineering audio/video systems utilizing Crestron, AMX, and Extron control systems.
  • Conducting customer site assessments and providing sales engineering assistance, which includes gathering and documenting detailed operational, functional, and technical specifications, developing project scopes, and delivering comprehensive system cost analyses for A/V initiatives.
  • Designing, testing, and troubleshooting various network and telecommunications systems, including IP and ISDN networks.
  • Interpreting plans and specifications to determine the types and grades of materials and equipment necessary to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Possessing knowledge of design methodologies, tools, and principles involved in producing electrical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Establishing specific objectives and plans to prioritize, organize, and execute work effectively.
  • Creating test plans for complex AV control system functional acceptance tests for AMX, Crestron, and Extron control systems.
  • Developing and delivering on-site user and administrative training for the installed integrated audio/visual systems.
Candidate Qualifications
  • Active DoD Security clearance preferred; must be eligible for a Top Secret DoD security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Familiarity with IT, telecommunications, A/V, and electrical equipment, including relevant materials and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of videoconferencing standards.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Proficiency in executing complex design/build and conceptual design methodologies.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with the capability to communicate effectively with executive leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving and consultative abilities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Educational background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 5 years OR Master's Degree in Engineering with 3 years of progressive experience in:
  • Developing and implementing hardware and software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating cost estimates and work breakdown structures for the design and execution of complex projects.
  • Experience in providing technical cross-training/coaching to junior colleagues.
  • Background in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Willingness to travel, including internationally, up to 20% of the time.

  • Ability to work on computer screens for extended periods.
  • Capability to sit for prolonged durations.
  • Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity to manipulate objects using fingers rather than whole hands or arms, such as typing on a keyboard.
