Job Overview

The Lead Systems Architect for lending solutions will act as a key authority, system designer, and trusted advisor for the lending division throughout the organization. This role requires in-depth knowledge of existing on-premises systems and the ability to provide insightful recommendations regarding product architecture, design, development, and modernization efforts. The Lead Systems Architect will play a crucial role in shaping lending strategies, engineering designs, data flows, and integration initiatives, offering technical guidance on innovative solutions that utilize cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert knowledge in distributed and cloud technologies, including Azure Cloud, MuleSoft Anypoint, REST API, Java, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes, to facilitate the delivery of lending modernization projects.
• Spearhead solution design, system architecture, and technical specifications while applying best practices in modern product development and systems engineering for lending solutions.

• Assess, define, and document requirements for data, workflows, logical processes, hardware, operating systems, interfaces with other systems, and outputs.
• Develop and enhance the architectural framework, including technical enablers and architectural experiments aligned with business priorities.

• Provide strategic advice on specialized engineering requirements and drive the execution of technology adoption to achieve optimal business outcomes.

• Conduct fit-gap analyses on current technology options and recommend pathways for transitioning to modern lending platforms that meet business objectives.

• Offer detailed insights for technology selection, implementation methodologies, and tools.

• Lead the adoption of a flexible change management framework, incorporating DevSecOps Continuous Integration & Delivery practices.

• Consult on testing strategies encompassing unit testing, performance testing, test automation, and system integration testing.

• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security Architecture, Platform Engineering, and Product Engineering teams on the design, development, and maintenance of distributed and cloud systems.

• Cultivate relationships with technology vendors regarding lending system architecture and design, focusing on operational effectiveness and adherence to service level agreements.

• Contribute to the development of lending modernization roadmaps and related cross-functional initiatives.

• Oversee the application of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) utilizing Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices.

• Engage with business and technology teams to support the development of the product backlog, including participation in backlog grooming, PI Planning, and Sprint Planning.

• Assist in production support activities, including deployments, issue resolution, and incident management.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, collaborating across teams to deliver effective solutions.

• Conduct root cause analyses to identify and address recurring technical problems.

• Provide input into financial planning, including budget recommendations.

• Mentor and guide team members on technology best practices, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and industry best practices.

• Monitor and analyze performance metrics to ensure optimal business and technical outcomes.

• Identify potential design, quality, or operational issues and initiate corrective actions.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance functionality, performance, and security.

• Stay informed on current and emerging technologies, trends, and practices to provide forward-thinking technical expertise.

• Ensure clear and timely communication of relevant information to stakeholders through various channels.

• Collaborate on the development and refinement of standards and best practices.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Extensive experience in systems engineering at the enterprise level, particularly in cloud and distributed system architectures within the financial services or fintech sectors.

• Profound knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices to solve complex problems and conduct sophisticated analyses.

• Significant experience with microservice architecture and service-oriented architecture (SOA) in an enterprise context.

• Proficient in software development practices, including the design, development, testing, and implementation of cloud applications and systems.

• Strong experience with object-oriented programming languages, particularly Java.

• In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure, especially within the Azure Cloud technology stack.

• Advanced skills in web service design and development, including REST, OpenAPI, and SOAP web services.

• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools such as GIT, Jenkins, and Terraform.

• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities and a knack for identifying root causes of issues.

• Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.

• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and presentation skills.

• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework and Agile software development practices.

• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
