Position Overview

Join a collaborative team of system engineers at M.C. Dean, Inc., where you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and programming of advanced A/V systems across various projects. Your expertise will contribute to the technical direction and successful execution of multiple initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, install, configure, integrate, and test sophisticated videoconferencing and audio/visual technologies, including control systems, displays, video walls, audio reinforcement systems, and streaming technologies.
  • Integrate and configure audio/video systems utilizing industry-standard control systems such as Crestron, AMX, and Extron.
  • Conduct thorough customer site assessments and provide engineering support, including gathering detailed operational and technical requirements, developing project scopes, and estimating overall system costs for A/V projects.
  • Design, integrate, and troubleshoot various network and telecommunications systems, including IP and ISDN networks.
  • Interpret plans and specifications to determine the necessary materials and equipment for compliance with project standards.
  • Utilize design techniques and tools to produce electrical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Establish specific goals and plans to effectively prioritize and organize work.
  • Develop complex AV control system programming and configuration for AMX, Crestron, and Extron systems.
  • Provide on-site user and administrative training for integrated audio/visual systems.
Candidate Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship required; candidates must be eligible for a government security clearance.
  • Experience in IT and/or telecommunications projects is essential.
  • Preferred certifications include Crestron and AMX Programming.
  • Proven experience in designing and programming systems such as Jupiter, Extron, Tandberg, Polycom, and Lutron.
  • Familiarity with A/V and electrical equipment, including related materials and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of videoconferencing standards and experience interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience in complex design/build practices and demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio; AutoCAD skills are a plus.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Valid passport required for potential international travel (up to 25%).
  • 10-12 years of experience with a high school diploma/GED, or 5-7 years with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures for complex projects.
  • Experience in coaching and cross-training junior colleagues.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Capable of sitting for long durations.
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating objects, such as using a keyboard.
  • Strong listening skills to comprehend spoken information.
  • Ability to articulate information clearly and effectively.
