Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. This is a part-time position with an estimated annual salary of $83,000-$110,000, depending on experience. As a CDI Specialist, you will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure accurate and complete documentation in patient records. Your primary responsibility will be to review medical records for completeness and accuracy, identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with physicians and other care givers to obtain additional information. You will also utilize your clinical knowledge to identify need for clarification in records and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to capture necessary documentation. Key responsibilities include conducting initial concurrent reviews and ongoing re-reviews for selected admissions, utilizing monitoring tools to track program progress, and sharing findings with identified staff.
