Job Overview

Salary:
Our organization is in search of a seasoned Dynamics 365/Power Platform Architect and Subject Matter Expert (SME) to spearhead the formulation and execution of a governance strategy and framework for all DSS Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions, operating within a unified Commonwealth of Virginia (COV) tenant, shared among over 60 independent executive branches.

This individual will serve as the technical liaison for the Power Platform between DSS stakeholders, DSS IT, DSS vendors, and the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA). The selected candidate will be responsible for comprehending the Power Platform environments strategy devised by VITA, ensuring that DSS vendors and citizen developers adhere to the DSS governance strategy.

Moreover, the SME/Platform Architect will offer technological guidance, roadmaps, principles, standards, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and engineering teams to implement a technical architecture, governance framework, and best practices to develop efficient solutions, product capabilities, and repeatable processes.
  • Act as the primary platform architect and technical lead for the Dynamics 365 and M365 Power Platform suite (Power Pages, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents).
  • Engage in highly complex projects and turnkey solutions that necessitate extensive knowledge across multiple specialized architecture domains, including Azure IaaS, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure DevOps, Okta Identity management, Azure storage accounts, and Azure app registrations.
  • Evaluate third-party products to document overall solution and system architectures, as well as identity/permissions security models.
  • Contribute to the product features roadmaps and to DSS's Power Platform Community of Practice (CoP models).
  • Ensure high-quality platform deliverables in alignment with the platform roadmap and capabilities.
  • Define delivery documentation including best practices, design, build, and operations guides, along with management processes and procedures.
  • Lead efforts in defining, documenting, and estimating requirements for enterprise applications.
  • Design and implement enterprise security and technology patterns.
  • Align architectural strategy with business objectives.
  • Develop and communicate architectural policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Promote the governance framework, outcomes, and results to the organization and senior leadership.
  • Review and analyze architectural requirements as needed for the organization.
  • Ensure the conceptual completeness of the technical solutions.
  • Assess existing business processes and establish metrics to enhance them, while supporting all architectural disciplines under their direction.
  • Address complex and ambiguous challenges that span numerous systems and organizations.
  • Collaborate with project management and IT leaders to ensure progress towards architectural alignment with project goals and requirements.
  • Resolve conflicts productively across teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of extensive knowledge and experience with Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Power Pages, Power Apps, and Power Automate.
  • 10+ years of experience with cloud and hybrid, on-premises infrastructures, architecture designs, industry standards, and/or technology management.
  • 15+ years of experience in the technology industry and IT consulting services.
  • Experience managing end-to-end product deployment from concept through development to successful launch.
  • Experience leading programs with comprehensive customer journey impact covering program planning, risk assessment, cost, and delivery.
  • Proven experience in managing delivery of services/products related to M365 and MS technology in a GCC environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to create product roadmaps, best practices, and development and deployment standards for M365 and its products.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at all organizational levels and across both technical and non-technical teams.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Process Automation.
