Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to patients and families in our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart disease
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Conduct thorough assessments, perform diagnostic procedures, and order laboratory tests as needed
- Administer medications, including vasopressors and inotropes, as prescribed by the attending physician
- Collaborate with the surgical team to provide post-operative care and management of patients with complex cardiac conditions
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Master's or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
- Graduate of an NP program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of California
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of California
- National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) from an agency accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS)
The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Nurse Practitioner will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of patient acuity. The CVICU is a 29-bed unit with plans to expand to 36 beds in the next few years. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers, and prioritize tasks to ensure timely and high-quality patient care.
