Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. As a Nurse Practitioner in this role, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the development of our patients' treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart disease
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the attending physician and other members of the healthcare team
  • Conduct thorough assessments, perform diagnostic tests, and interpret results to inform patient care decisions
  • Order and administer medications, as well as perform other medical procedures as needed
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Graduate of an NP program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of California
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of California
  • National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) from an agency accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working 10-hour rotating shifts. The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The CVICU is a fast-paced environment, and the successful candidate will be required to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
