Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Regional Vice President of Operations - Hospice to join our team at LHC Group. This key leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the operations of assigned regions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of administrative practices, agency philosophy, goals, and policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Coordinate and complete assigned projects to support the company's immediate and long-range objectives.
  • Enhance the profitability of assigned agencies through effective management and strategic decision-making.
  • Motivate and retain qualified staff, ensuring a high level of employee satisfaction and engagement.
  • Ensure the quality of services delivered by assigned agencies, adhering to the Care Management Model.
  • Act as a liaison with management staff and other departments throughout the company, facilitating communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in and facilitate QAPI planning and processes, reporting, and improvement action plans in assigned agencies.
  • Oversee all occurrences, complaints, negative trends, performance improvement issues, patient/family satisfaction scores, and concerns in assigned agencies.
  • Review assigned agencies' monthly financials to ensure quality patient care is delivered in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Review weekly metrics, claims alerts, productivity, and census reports, following up on negative trends as needed.
  • Report to the divisional leadership team on operational, financial, risk management, compliance, staffing, business development, and patient care issues.
  • Review monthly and quarterly operational and market development financials with division leadership for assigned agencies, following up on variances.
  • Oversee current budget and budget forecast for assigned agencies.
  • Assist the sales team in identifying and implementing business development opportunities in assigned agencies.
  • Mentor local leadership regarding each assigned agency's fiscal, clinical, census, and quality metrics.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of assigned agencies, as well as adequate staff education and evaluations.
  • Act as a liaison between agency staff, management team, and senior leadership team.
  • Review annual staff satisfaction results for assigned agencies and assist with action plans for all Tier 2 and Tier 3 agencies.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled conference calls and/or agency visits with local leadership, reviewing and evaluating overall operations, clinical processes, business development opportunities, and possible adverse trends/concerns in assigned region.
  • Supervise and provide timely performance evaluations to direct reports.
  • Act as a liaison between business contacts and/or partners regarding assigned agencies' fiscal and quality performance, including participation in the quarterly reporting process.
  • Facilitate agency participation in community awareness, education, and service-oriented projects in assigned regions.
  • Responsible for compliance in assigned agencies with all regulations, laws, policies, and procedures applicable to home health/hospice and Medicare/Medicaid issues when applicable.
Qualifications
  • At least three years of documented experience in a discipline with at least one year of full-time experience in a hospice, home health, or oncology setting.
  • Licensed Physician, Registered Nurse, or Social Worker currently licensed to practice in the state of employment or a college graduate with a Bachelor's degree (Education and licensure must comply with state regulations).
