Job Summary

Bland Landscaping Company is seeking a highly skilled Irrigation System Technician to join our team. As an Irrigation System Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems for commercial and residential landscape customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper function.
  • Install new irrigation systems as needed.
  • Load and unload heavy equipment and tools.
  • Schedule and monitor daily workloads.
  • Plan, coordinate, and collect equipment and materials each day.
  • Attend and participate in crew and department general and safety meetings.
  • Submit daily timesheets and record materials used for billing.
  • Perform administrative tasks.
  • Ensure truck and trailer standardization and cleanliness, maintain inventory for irrigation vehicles.
  • Drive company-owned vehicles and transport crew members safely.
  • Use technology for communication and coordination.
  • Communicate daily with Production Manager on progress and planning.
  • Perform daily start-up and shut-down procedures.
  • Manage hours and job quality.
  • Maintain on-site relations and communications with clients, contractors, and internal customers.
  • Diagnose and repair controllers.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
  • Operate construction equipment, including trenchers, tamps, excavators, skid loaders, mini track loaders, and boring equipment.
  • Use electrical diagnostic equipment, including locators, multi-meters, and wire tracers.
  • Operate a pressure washer.
  • Use hand tools, such as shovels, picks, rakes, and pipe cutting tools.

  • $19-$26 hourly pay.

Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
  • Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other environmental risks.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must wear sturdy shoes, company uniforms, and assigned PPE.
  • Must present yourself in a professional, polite manner.
  • Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment.
  • Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required.
  • Must have a valid NC Driver's license and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred).
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be willing to obtain NC Pesticide applicators license.
  • Must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others.
  • Must comply with Bland's policies and procedures.
