Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating a minimum of $30MM in equipment finance/lease new business volume for our portfolio, $40MM including syndication. Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying opportunities through prospecting activities and leveraging our existing contact database.
  • Effective communication with clients and stakeholders via telephone, email, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Traveling 20-40% of the time to meet with prospects and customers.
  • Managing opportunities through the credit, asset management, legal, documentation, and funding process.
  • Assisting with portfolio management activities, including gathering financials, payment collections, and customer communication.
  • Working with capital markets to structure, win, and syndicate large-ticket transactions.
  • Utilizing our CRM platform (Salesforce) to build and maintain a detailed and organized database.
  • Coordinating with our marketing team to execute database marketing initiatives.
  • Working closely with our Vice President, Region Manager to analyze, price, and structure transactions.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a business development role in the equipment leasing and financing industry.
  • Possess credit skills through formal training or previous analytical work.
  • Experience in document negotiation and secured asset financing.
  • A strong network of prospects and customers.
  • Ability to effectively interact with C-Suite level executives.
  • Understanding of structuring and the relationship between credit and asset values.
  • Relevant experience in calling into the B to BBB-/BB+ space.
  • Experience in pricing transactions between the bank and independent markets.
  • Knowledge of tax-oriented financing solutions.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, SuperTrump, and Microsoft Office products.
