Position Overview:
Oversee the construction processes of significant capital projects to guarantee completion in accordance with specifications, within budgetary constraints, and on schedule. Supervise maintenance superintendents and contract construction inspectors. Ensure that construction initiatives meet quality, safety, and productivity benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct construction operations for major projects of varying values. Supervise and assess inspectors and company personnel. Facilitate training and provide resources for technical advancement.
- Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations. Lead construction meetings and support on-site activities.
- Evaluate engineering documents for feasibility and estimate labor/material needs. Monitor construction plans for potential efficiency improvements.
- Coordinate field operations to adhere to timelines. Approve time sheets, material requests, and minimize change orders.
- Establish procedures for punch lists and coordinate startup activities with maintenance teams. Transition facilities to operations safely.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of relevant construction/maintenance experience is required, along with supervisory experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to work independently is necessary. Some travel may be involved.
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements include walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and occasional standing and lifting. Specific vision capabilities are also necessary.
