- Guarantee the safety and welfare of children at all times

- Prepare, collect, and arrange materials necessary for activities
- Assess each student using the DESSA framework three times annually, providing reports to parents biannually
- Utilize insights from DESSA evaluations in daily teaching practices
- Document all incidents promptly in the incident log and insurance report
- Notify the supervisor immediately of any concerns or injuries involving a child
Coaches are expected to have ALL students present their homework at the start of each session, daily
- Inspect backpacks and homework books (even if the child claims no assignments)
- Students must display each completed task for the coach's approval.
- Initial each child's assignment in pen in the corner when complete and accurate
- Coaches should be knowledgeable about and able to explain common core standards for grades K-5
- Record all children’s attendance each day
- Maintain precise notes on attendance, work habits, and progress for each child
- Document daily meal counts using provided forms
- Disinfect tables and chairs with a bleach solution
- Restore the classroom to its original condition
- Remove all trash from tables and floors before leaving the classroom
- Communicate daily with parents regarding their children's progress
- Discuss any incomplete homework with the individual picking up the child if assignments are not finished by the end of the after-school program
- Engage in two professional development sessions each month
- Contribute to weekly team planning
- Accept responsibilities in quarterly themes
- Integrate CLASS training and Net Promoter Score into practices
- Part-Time Staff Member
- Ability to navigate stairs and lift up to 45 pounds if necessary
- Involves repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping
- Climb up and down stairs
- Possess mobility, vision, and hearing necessary for the safety and consistent supervision of children
- Fluency in English preferred; bilingual speakers of Spanish, Bengali, Nepali, Tibetan, etc., are also preferred
- Communicate clearly and accurately in English, ensuring children with diverse home languages can hear sounds correctly in class
- Spend time sitting on the floor or using child-sized furniture
- Ensure supplies are utilized properly, organized, and returned
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of equipment and facilities
- Engage with children on the floor
- Work outdoors
- Perform light typing and word processing for parent communication
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Function in an environment filled with children's voices
- Minimum of 60 credits towards a Bachelor's Degree
- One year of prior experience in school-age childcare
- Second language preferred (Bengali, Tibetan, Spanish, Mandarin)
- Ability to accurately complete homework according to common core standards for elementary-aged children
- Availability Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 6:30 PM, with a minimum commitment required
