Job Title: Youth Volleyball Coach

Commonpoint Queens is seeking a qualified Youth Volleyball Coach to join our Health & Wellness team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a passion for volleyball.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute lessons for 1-1.5 hour classes according to the appropriate activity and age group.
  • Properly progress participants throughout the season to improve skill development and abilities.
  • Organize and lead a high-energy, structured class with consistent flow and engagement.
  • Coordinate with other coaches to help sports classes maintain flow and organization.
  • Encourage participation and sportsmanship for all participants in the program.
  • Maintain supervision and care of each athlete under the care of the Youth Sports program.

Requirements:

  • Experience and ability to work with children with varying levels of skill and ability.
  • Understanding of proper progression in regards to sport-specific skills.
  • Time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents, players, and supervisors.
  • Proactive work ethic and ability to perform with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:

The Youth Volleyball Coach will work primarily at Commonpoint Queens' Sam Field Center. The ideal candidate will be available to work on Mondays or Tuesdays from 6:00-8:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am-12:00pm.

Compensation:

The Youth Volleyball Coach will be compensated at a rate of $30.00/hour (commensurate with experience) and $20.00/hour for gym supervision.
