Contract Duration: 3 months
Position Overview
The IT Support Administrator serves as a crucial contact point for users seeking assistance within the organization's manufacturing sector. This role encompasses troubleshooting, installation, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and enhancement of systems in a high-paced, dynamic internet/e-commerce production setting.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate ownership of their responsibilities, possess a strong customer-centric approach, and exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, alongside robust technical expertise. The candidate must thrive in a collaborative team environment of 3-4 engineers while also being capable of working independently with minimal oversight. The ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals, along with strong analytical, written, verbal, and presentation skills, is essential. A self-motivated individual with a team-oriented mindset is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary communication and escalation point among supervisors, technicians, engineering, and production teams.
- Provide implementation and ongoing support for production hardware and software systems.
- Configure and troubleshoot intricate hardware, custom-built applications, configuration management, and general automation tasks.
- Occasionally handle server racking and cable management duties.
- Support third-party applications as needed.
- Offer configuration and troubleshooting assistance for workstations and peripheral devices.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in a Windows operating system administration role.
- Results-oriented and capable of thriving in a collaborative, team-focused environment with a strong customer service emphasis.
- Solid understanding of network connectivity between hosts and clients.
- Experience in server and desktop hardware configuration and assembly.
- Excellent documentation capabilities and effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Highly motivated problem solver with proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze issues by type and severity.
- Comprehend complex interrelations among components of production systems.
- Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Linux, Cygwin, and Apache/Tomcat.
