Role Overview

The IT Support Administrator serves as a vital resource for users requiring assistance within the organization's operational framework. This position encompasses troubleshooting, installation, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and upgrades of systems in a fast-paced, 24/7 internet/e-commerce production setting.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate ownership of their responsibilities, possess a strong customer-centric approach, and exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work collaboratively within a team of engineers, as well as independently with minimal oversight, is essential. Candidates should be adept at conveying technical information to non-technical audiences and possess strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary communication link and escalation point among supervisors, technicians, engineering teams, and production operations.
  • Provide implementation and ongoing support for production hardware and software systems.
  • Configure and troubleshoot complex hardware, custom applications, and manage configuration processes.
  • Occasionally engage in server racking and cable management tasks.
  • Support third-party applications effectively.
  • Offer configuration and troubleshooting assistance for workstations and peripheral devices.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a Windows operating system environment.
  • Results-oriented with a strong inclination towards teamwork and collaboration; exceptional customer service skills are a must.
  • Solid understanding of network connectivity between hosts and clients.
  • Experience in server and desktop hardware configuration and assembly.
  • Excellent documentation capabilities and the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated problem solver with proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze issues based on type and severity.
  • Comprehension of complex interrelations among components of production systems.
  • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Linux, Cygwin, and Apache/Tomcat.
