IT Support Administrator

Location: Remote

Payrate: $35.00 per hour

Contract Duration: 3 months

Position Overview

The IT Support Administrator serves as a vital resource for users seeking assistance within the organization’s operational framework. This role encompasses the troubleshooting, installation, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and enhancement of systems in a fast-paced, dynamic production environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, possess a customer-centric mindset, and exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be capable of collaborating effectively within a small team of engineers while also being able to work independently with minimal oversight. Furthermore, the ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals is essential, along with strong analytical, written, oral, and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary communication link and escalation point among supervisors, technicians, engineering, and production teams.
  • Implement and provide support for production hardware and software systems.
  • Configure and troubleshoot complex hardware, custom applications, and manage configuration.
  • Occasionally assist with server racking and cable management tasks.
  • Support third-party applications as needed.
  • Provide configuration assistance and troubleshooting for workstations and peripherals.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a Windows operating system environment.
  • Results-oriented with a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration; excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • Solid understanding of network connectivity between hosts and clients.
  • Experience in server and desktop hardware configuration and assembly.
  • Exceptional documentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly motivated problem solver with proven troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to analyze issues by type and severity.
  • Comprehend complex interrelationships among components of production systems.
  • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Linux, Cygwin, and Apache/Tomcat.
